Three suspects sought in Mardi Gras shooting on Union Street, police say

One man in the group produced a gun and fired into the group, striking one person in the leg and another in the head, police say.

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Police Department is searching for three suspects wanted in connection to a double shooting that occurred on Union Street on Mardi Gras Day.

The shooting occurred around 3:20 p.m. after a fight broke out among a group of about 10 people on Union Street near Carondelet.

One man in the group produced a gun and fired into the group, striking one person in the leg and another in the head, police say. Both victims were taken to an area hospital by EMS. Police told Eyewitness News later the same day that the man shot in the head was listed in critical condition while the man shot in the leg was in stable condition.

Detectives were able to identify three suspects believed to be the perpetrators in the incident.

A previous photo of one of the suspects was released later on the day of the shooting. That same suspect is believed to be pictured above on the left wearing a blue shirt and light-colored jeans.
