MANDEVILLE, La. -- A 50-year-old man was sentenced to 40 years in prison after being convicted of raping two girls.
Officials said David Murray pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts of forcible rape and one count of molestation of a juvenile.
According to District Attorney Warren Montgomery's office, one of Murray's victims was 11-years-old when the abuse began. At 13, she became pregnant and her mother found messages where Murray referred to the unborn child as his baby.
During the investigation, officials said a second girl came forward and said she was 7 or 8 years old when Murray began touching her.
The two victims and their families were in court and gave victim impact statements.
