Video: Man robs donut shop in Gentilly

Police say the man demanded the customers in the business to get behind the counter while he demanded money from the register.

NEW ORLEANS – Police are looking for a man who robbed a donut shop in Gentilly on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred just before 10:45 a.m. when a man, armed with a gun, entered a business in the 2000 block of Caton Street. Police say the man demanded the customers in the business to get behind the counter while he demanded money from the register.

After the man got the money, he fled towards Mt. Olive cemetery and then towards Dillard University, according to police.

The suspect is described as a man with a dark complexion, slender build, wearing a camouflage hooded sweatshirt, beige pants and black handkerchief on his face. He also had red and white shoes with red laces and a Puma brand logo on them.

Police say he was armed with a maroon and silver semi-automatic gun.
