Computer system glitch has been resolved, Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles says

OMW commissioner Karen St. Germain tells Eyewitness Morning News that all systems should be fully functional when offices open at 8 a.m.

NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles says a computer system issue that prevented driver’s license transactions Wednesday has been resolved.

OMW commissioner Karen St. Germain tells Eyewitness Morning News that all systems should be fully functional when offices open at 8 a.m.

The computer glitch was the result of a “core application issue” and became a statewide problem, St. Germain said.

St. Germain said that Wednesday’s issue was the first time that the system was unavailable for an entire day. She added that the Office of Technology Services worked through the night on the issue and made a final determination at midnight.

The computer issue prevented driver’s license transactions including reinstatements and renewals. Vehicle registration transactions could still be completed.
