Rams CB Marcus Peters: 'Tell Sean Payton to keep talking that (expletive)'

Payton must be an elite trash-talker from the sidelines for Peters to still be in his feelings about this four days following their game.

The New Orleans Saints have put their victory over the Los Angeles Rams into review, but the feeling doesn’t appear to be mutual. Rams cornerback Marcus Peters was a frequent target when matched up against Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas, and Saints head coach Sean Payton acknowledged that they liked what opportunities the pairing gave New Orleans.

Peters bristled at that when asked about it by ESPN’s Lindsey Thiry after practice Thursday:

“Tell Sean Payton to keep talking that (expletive). We’re going to see him soon. You feel me? Yeah. ‘Cause I liked what he was saying on the sidelines, too. So tell him keep talking that (expletive), and I hope he sees me soon. And then we’re gonna have a nice little bowl of gumbo together.”

Payton must be an elite trash-talker from the sidelines for Peters to still be in his feelings about this four days following their game. It’s never fun to lose, sure, and the Saints absolutely took advantage of Peters when Thomas was matched up against him; though the cornerback made some plays of his own, Thomas clearly won the day, including the iconic 72-yard touchdown to seal the game.

Forecast: Arrogant, cocky and over-the-top and I love it

You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone, Saints fan or Rams or anyone else, who isn’t hoping for a NFC Championship Game rematch between New Orleans and L.A. Hopefully it’ll be in the Big Easy again.
