The funeral services for Slidell Police Officer Jason Seals have been set.
Funeral services, with full honors, will be held at the Northshore Harbor Center (100 Harbor Center Boulevard, Slidell, Louisiana) on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at 12:00 noon.
Visitation at the Northshore Harbor Center will begin at 9:00 a.m., until funeral time. A police procession will follow the funeral services. Interment in the Forest Lawn Cemetery (1751 Gause Boulevard West, Slidell, Louisiana) will begin after the police procession arrives.
The time estimated for the funeral procession to begin is 1:30 p.m. but is subject to change depending on how long funeral services will last. The procession is expected to last for one hour and will be led by more than 100 police motorcycles and police units. Citizens can follow behind the police units but are also encouraged to line up along the procession route.
The route of the funeral procession is as follows:
- Leave Northshore Harbor Center and turn RIGHT onto Oak Harbor Boulevard
- Continue along Oak Harbor Boulevard to Highway 11 / Pontchartrain Drive
- Turn RIGHT onto Highway 11 / Pontchartrain Drive to Sgt. Alfred Drive
- Turn RIGHT onto Sgt. Alfred Drive and pass in front of the Slidell Police Department
- Continue along Sgt. Alfred Drive to Fremaux Avenue. Turn LEFT onto Fremaux Avenue
- Continue along Fremaux Avenue to Front Street. Turn RIGHT on Front Street.
- Continue along Front Street to Gause Boulevard. Turn LEFT on Gause Boulevard.
- Continue along Gause Boulevard until Forest Lawn Cemetery
Drivers are advised that roadways will be shut down for up to an hour. If you do not wish to pay your respects, an alternate route is advised. Drivers are also advised to remember funeral procession etiquette by pulling over to the side of the road as vehicles in the procession have the right of way.
There will be a designated area for law enforcement to park at the Northshore Harbor Center.
The St. Tammany Fire District will be participating in the funeral procession. All other visiting fire districts are asked to line up firetrucks along the procession route.
