Two men arrested after woman robbed at gunpoint on her front porch

Last Tuesday, a woman told New Orleans police that she was on her front porch on Soniat Street around 6:20 p.m. when a man ran up behind her, pulled a handgun and demanded her keys.

NEW ORLEANS – Two men have been arrested after a woman in the Freret neighborhood was held at gunpoint on her front porch last week.

Last Tuesday, a woman told New Orleans police that she was on her front porch on Soniat Street around 6:20 p.m. when a man ran up behind her, pulled a handgun and demanded her keys. According to detectives, the woman gave him her house keys, but he refused to take them and demanded her car keys. The gunman then fled in the homeowner’s Toyota Prius.

The next day, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s deputies found the victim’s car and notified NOPD. Officers tried to stop the vehicle but a chase ensued. Ultimately, two people inside the car were taken into custody. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 20-year-old Donte Moore. The passenger was identified as 27-year-old Prentiss Craft.

Both men were taken to the Orleans Parish Justice Center. Moore was booked with armed robbery with a gun and felon in possession of a firearm. Craft was booked with armed robbery with a gun.
