SLIDELL - Police have arrested a person they believe is responsible for the armed robbery of a WWII veteran this week.
On Thursday (Dec. 13), a man entered a Slidell retirement community, Lafittes Landing, and robbed a 92-year-old veteran of cash, medication and his car before fleeing the area, Slidell Police Department officials said.
After releasing video of the suspect, law enforcement officials said tips to identify the robber "came pouring in within minutes," and on Friday they announced the man was in custody on non-related charges.
The victim's vehicle was also located, police said.
The investigation into the incident is still on-going. No charges nor the suspect's identity have yet been announced.
