NOPD is investigating a homicide in New Orleans East early Sunday.
Police received a call from a concerned citizen stating that a person was lying face down in the grassy area on the side of the road on Lake Forest Boulevard near Bullard Avenue. Officers went to the location and found a woman with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police.
EMS rendered aid to the woman, however she was later pronounced dead at the scene.
