Fire at Harvey apartment complex leaves two dozen without power

Crews were able to contain the fire to one unit and to the exterior of the complex.

HARVEY, La. — About two dozen people were displaced due to no electricity after a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex in Harvey Sunday morning.

The fire occurred a few minutes after 8 a.m. in the 2100 block of Manhattan Boulevard.

Firefighters on scene saw flames from the exterior of the three-story complex. Crews were able to contain the fire to one unit and to the exterior of the complex.

The scene was cleared by 9:45 a.m. and no one was injured, the fire department says.

The fire department is investigating what caused the fire.
