Threats prompt lockdown at Hynes Charter School

According to NOPD, Edward Hynes Charter School was placed on lockdown a little after noon on the order of the school’s principal following the phone calls.

NEW ORLEANS — A charter school in Lakeview is on lockdown after the school received threatening phone calls Thursday afternoon.

According to NOPD, Edward Hynes Charter School was placed on lockdown a little after noon on the order of the school’s principal following the phone calls.

Police say NOPD officers are responding to the school as well as officers from the Lakeview Crime District Prevention.

Additional information has not been released from police at this time.
