Country Music legend John Prine will miss Jazz Fest.
According to a release from the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival Organizers, Prine had "a routine medical procedure" and "his doctor has advised him he needs to extend his recovery time."
Elvin Bishop's Big Fun Trio has been added to the lineup Saturday to take his place.
Prine is known as one of the most influential song writers in American history. His most recent album, The Tree of Forgiveness, rose to the top of the US Folk charts and held top 5 positions on the US Country, Indie and Rock charts as well.
