Teens, 15 and 17, arrested in New Orleans triple shooting

The shooting happened the night of November 16 in New Orleans East, police say.

NEW ORLEANS — A 15-year-old and 17-year-old were arrested in connection to a shooting that left three other teenagers injured last month, police officials announced Tuesday.

Three teens were shot in New Orleans East on the night of Saturday, Nov. 16 in the 13000 block of the North I-10 Service Road, sometime around 9:20 p.m, NOPD officials said. The victims were a 16-year-old boy, a 14-year-old boy and a 15-year old girl.

Police investigated the attack and on Tuesday announced the Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) had found and arrested two teenage suspects.

They were booked into the Juvenile Justice Center for attempted second-degree murder, aggravated battery by shooting, illegal use of a weapon, illegal possession of a firearm by a juvenile, according to NOPD officials.

Because the suspects are juveniles, their names and photos were not released by the NOPD.

Following the attack, the victims reportedly told police one of the teenage boys was first approached by two men, who then pulled out handguns and opened fire at the group.

Both boys were shot in the leg, police said. The girl was shot in the leg area.

None of their injuries were considered life-threatening, but all three were transported to a hospital by paramedics.

Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Seventh District detectives at 504-658-6070, or to call anonymously to Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 or toll-free at  1-877-903-STOP (7867).
